More work on the big pond (relatively, it holds about 1000 liters of water , that is 264 gallons), but at a more relaxed pace.
There were no Shubunkins to be had in the shop, and for a very good reason, their provider had just gotten them, and the shop wanted the fish to be quaranteened for a while before getting them. Instead I fell for two yellow-and-white  babies (how come that I always find some creature to fall in love with?

One is a Comet (long-tailed), the other a 'normal'.

While the new fish remained in isolation, we put a bit of 'forniture' in the pond. Some old roof-tiles are great to build a condo hideout:

We put it in the middle of the pond, in  the farthest spot from other hiding places. Then, we planted two waterlilies in vases, so that they could grow without taking over the pond, one is a new (bought) pink, the other is a red offshoot of a plant we already have in the connection-basin

After placing the tiles and setting the vases in we let things lie a while, then, we introduced the new fish in the pond as well, in two different days.
I'm sorry I didn't think to bring the camera when we put in the older ones. They stood completely still on one side  while the four 'original' fish stood just as still on the opposite side, after about a minute the two groups started swimming towards each other, nosed each other a bit (smelling, I guess), and that was it. Now it's like they have always been together.
A couple of days later the little ones have been made part of the family as well.

All the novelties didn't cause anyone to loose its appetite

The dark-backed one is Xiao Zhu (piglet) it always goes for the biggest piece of food it can find. Jin ('golden' the yellow one) and Mei ('beautiful' the red-and-white comet) aren't far behind, though. Yesterday, while hubby adjusted a tile, Jin nose-bumped his hand begging for food, and... would you dare to stand between Mei and its dinner ?

I'm thankful their teeth are in their throaths.
