I can't say, actually. The main story arc resolves over the course of 9 books (when I started I thought it was a trilogy). As far as I know the 5th and 6th books aren't yet available outside of Australia and she is still writing the last three, so, yes, there is still plenty of space for an epic fail, I can only say 'So far so good, she has avoided a couple of very big blunders' and done some things right.
This post is meant to go with my next one (not sure if I'll manage to put it up today or not) about a series (not fantasy), that in my opinion fails badly on the matter of outsider gaze.
