Yes, I too like 'foglia secca', it has a sort of creaking sound to it, like walking on dead leaves, abd (IMO) sounds 'light'.
Actually I like our 'foglia secca' (dry, or dried, leaf) more than the English equivalent, 'dead leaf' sounds more final to me, somehow sadder.

we also have 'foglia morta' in Italian (the exact correspondent of dead leaf) for me that is the next step... the sodden leaves changing into humus.
