bufera estiva
come una foglia secca
passero in volo

summer storm
like a dead leaf
sparrow in flight

Inspired by one of Marili's haiku.

so pretty! I love the image of the sparrow as a dead leaf. And I like the sound of "come una foglia secca" (I don't speak Italian, but I know French, so I can see what each word means... I like "foglia secca"--I could say that over and over)

Thank you! :-)

Yes, I too like 'foglia secca', it has a sort of creaking sound to it, like walking on dead leaves, abd (IMO) sounds 'light'.
Actually I like our 'foglia secca' (dry, or dried, leaf) more than the English equivalent, 'dead leaf' sounds more final to me, somehow sadder.

that 'abd' was 'and'...

Yes--I agree! Dead leaf is sadder :-(

we also have 'foglia morta' in Italian (the exact correspondent of dead leaf) for me that is the next step... the sodden leaves changing into humus.
